Sen. Imee Marcos Speaks on Mom Imelda amid Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Running for President
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator made revelations about their mom, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, amid former Sen. Bongbong Marcos‘ presidential bid.
Following his vice-presidential loss in the 2016 Elections, former Sen. Bongbong Marcos is back in the national race as he is gunning for the presidency in the upcoming May 2022 poll. He is the standard-bearer of Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
The presidential bid of Marcos Jr. triggered the issues surrounding the regime of his late father, the late former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.; his tax evasion cases; and the alleged ill-gotten wealth of their family.
Amid the issues, the former Senator ranks first in survey results. However, his camp continues to assert that they don’t want to be complacent. Recently, her sister, Sen. Imee Marcos, revealed that their mother, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, wants to join the campaign.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Sen. Imee Marcos revealed that former First Lady Imelda Marcos does not want to be stopped as she really wants to campaign for former Sen. Bongbong Marcos. The Senator stressed their concern because of her old age and having comorbidity.
“May comorbidity na rin pero talagang buhay niya ang kampanya. Kaya buhay na buhay. Gustong-gusto sumali,” Sen. Marcos said of the former First Lady.
Based on the report, Sen. Imee Marcos further expressed that they had to stop former First Lady Imelda Marcos from going to crowded places. According to her, their mom is the best politician in their family as it comes naturally to her and she really knows how to deal with the people.
Sen. Marcos stressed that the former First Lady is “very sensitive and very people-wise”. According to her, her mother has a very high emotional intelligence and they really need her always.
