Some supporters of the former senator have been using the song as their expression of frustration with the current state of the country, 36 years after the EDSA People Power Revolution. The song was also used in several campaign rallies of the BBM-Sara UniTeam.

But according to Dong Abay, he did not make the said song to be used by Marcos’ supporters. He also said that he will not allow the song to be used in BBM-Sara’s campaigns.

Over my dead body.

As expected, his post on Twitter generated mixed reactions from the netizens.

The UniTeam has yet to issue any statement regarding the remarks of Dong Abay.

Meanwhile, Westdon Martin Abay or popularly known as Dong Abay was the founding member, songwriter, and lead vocalist of the bands Yano, Pan, and dongabay, which are now all defunct.
