President Duterte endorsed the senatorial bid of Salvador Panelo.
PRESIDENT DUTERTE — The Philippine President recently endorsed the senatorial bid of Salvador “Sal” Panelo.
In a Facebook video posted on Panelo’s Facebook page, the President said that Panelo “talks of nothing except for the good of the country”.
“I am endorsing the candidacy and asking the people to vote for Salvador Panelo,” the President said. “Alam mo si Panelo, mabait na tao. Dito sa cabinet, member ko pa siya, he talks of nothing except for the good of the country. And I believe him kasi matagal ko nang kilala si Sal.“
The President went on to ask the public to vote for Panelo because it will be a big help to the country if he’s elected in the 2022 elections.

Panelo is the third senatorial candidate that the President has endorsed. To recall, President endorsed the senatorial bids of former Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque and former senator JV Ejercito.
Panelo, who is the former Presidential Spokesperson and former Chief Presidential Legal Counsel, is one of the senatorial candidates under the Cusi-led PDP-Laban party.
Also part of the senatorial slate of Cusi-led PDP-Laban are the following: Greco Belgica, John Castriones, Rey Langit, Rodante Marcoleta, Robin Padilla, and Astra Pimentel.
Regarding any endorsement of a presidential candidate by the President, Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go earlier said that President Duterte alone would make the final decision on whom to endorse, if at all.
“Abangan na lang po natin at magtiwala tayo sa kanyang pagpapasyahan,” Go said.
