Pacquiao is gearing up for the highest position in the government this coming May 9, 2022 election.

Together with his runningmate Buhay partylist representative, Lito Atienza, they will go against the tandem of; Vice President Leni Robredo and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno and Doc Willie Ong, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

Recently, Pacquiao-Atienza tandem held a proclamation rally.

One of the guests in their campaign kickoff is no less than Dionisia Pacquiao, the mother of Manny who’s also known as Mommy D.

At one point, she expressed her concern for her son because he might run out of money due to his candidacy.

In her speech, she revealed that the Pambansang Kamao spent lots of money when he ran in the 2007 election where he lost against his rival Darlene Antonino-Custodio.

“Noong tumatakbo pa siya noong unang beses dito sa General Santos, umiyak ako kasi ilang sako na ng pera ang nakita kong nawala,” she said.

“Sabi pa ng mga amiga ko, ‘Mommy, ang anak mo bigay ng bigay ng pera, baka maubos ang kwarta!'” she added.

Now she is even more scared as her son vies for the highest position in the government.

Manny couldn’t help but cover his face while laughing at his mother’s story.

The boxing champ-turned-politician has been known for giving out money. But he earlier said that he will stop giving money in the meantime amid the election.
