President Duterte’s former and current Cabinet members, his local officials under the PDP-Laban party, and celebrities and influencers who had campaigned for the President gave their support for Moreno’s candidacy.

They said that Moreno was a “part of the administration family”.

Maraming salamat sa mga DDS, sa mga Duterte die-hard supporter at mga kaalyado ni Pangulong Duterte na tumutulong sa atin,” Domagoso said.

Moreno’s camp used the hashtag #ShiftToIsko a few days before Interior Undersecretary Martin Diño, former Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones, and pro-Duterte celebrity Vivian Velez attended Moreno’s proclamation rally last Tuesday.

Rizal Mayor Dennis “Tom” Hernandez endorsed Moreno on Wednesday and said that PDP-Laban members have been allowed to choose their own presidential bets after Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s withdrawal.

Moreno said that he still didn’t know if the President will support him.

Hindi ko alam kung tutulungan ako ni Pangulong Duterte,” Moreno said.

So far, President Duterte endorsed the senatorial bids of former Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and former senator JV Ejercito.

Moreno previously refuted the reports calling him as the “secret candidate” of the administration. The Manila mayor also rejected the “Duterte Lite” tag on him.

President Duterte has yet to endorse any presidential candidate in the 2022 elections after Senator Go withdrew his bid for the top post. According to Senator Go, the President alone would make the final decision on whom to endorse, if at all.
