RICO BLANCO — “The Goodbye Girl” actor was asked why he and his girlfriend Maris Racal have no Valentine’s Day plans this 2022.
Rico said that he’s now more open when it comes to his personal life ever since going public with his relationship with Maris in 2021. He explained during “The Goodbye Girl” media conference the rationale on why it was different before when he was just a singer.
“Before, I wanted people to focus lang on the project whatever it is. If I’m doing a presscon for my album, let’s talk about that project. Ayoko lang na iba yung pinag-uusapan kasi nahihiya ako sa nag-organize ng presscon, sa producer ng show, ganun, tapos iba yung pag-uusapan,” Rico said. “But now I think I’m a little more mature. I know how it works, I know about views and eyeballs.”
He also said that his girlfriend’s attitude towards social media was different from his approach, but it has encouraged him to become more open with his supporters.

As Valentine’s day comes near, couples usually made plans for a romantic date during this time of the year.
However, Rico shared why it’s okay that he and his girlfriend won’t be going out on the 14th. According to him, it’s harder to be in a relationship with someone who was in a different field.
“Alam natin sa industry natin wala tayong Valentines, wala tayong Christmas and New Year kasi tayo yung nagpapasaya ng ibang tao. So one of the advantages of being a showbiz couple I guess is that you both understand,” Rico said.
“The Goodbye Girl” illustrated the five types of heartbroken women while sharing valuable lessons on how to conquer heartbreak and come out of it better, wiser, and stronger.
