Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon Posted a Dare on Fellow Commission Aimee Ferolino
COMELEC – Commissioner Rowena Guanzon dared her fellow commissioner, Aimee Ferolino, that they will resign from their posts together.
The issue regarding the decision on the three (3) consolidated petitions seeking the disqualification of former Senator Bongbong Marcos sparked different reactions. It heat up social media after Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon aired big claims.
Guanzon is one of the three-member division that is handling the consolidated petitions against Marcos Jr. According to her, she voted to disqualify the former Senator from the presidential race because she believes there is moral turpitude in the tax conviction of the former Senator.
Guanzon stressed that Marcos Jr. was convicted twice. According to her, she believes that there is allegedly a political interference why the decision was delayed.
Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon named fellow Commissioner Aimee Ferolino as the ponente or the one who must write the resolution bearing the decision on the consolidated petitions.
Guanzon claimed that they have agreed to release the decision by January 17. To the said claim, Ferolino had an opposite claim saying there was no deadline that they have agreed on. According to her, it was already January 10 when the petitions were raffled to her office and the pieces of evidence were received by January 14.
Ferolino stressed that it is not possible to decide on the issue given the timeline. She also tagged Guanzon’s move of revealing her as the ponente a risk on her part.
Amid the ongoing issues, Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon who earlier gave Aimee Ferolino until Monday dared her that they will resign together before February 3. She stressed that the integrity of the poll body is now in question.
I challenge Comm Ferrolino, let us resign together before feb 3 since the integrity of the @COMELEC is now in question.
