The President, who was currently on his second round of inspections in typhoon-stricken areas in Mindanao and the Visayas, said last December 23 that he would continue his visits throughout the holidays.

President Duterte made this announcement in his speech at Puerto Princesa in Palawan last Thursday afternoon.

Since Saturday, the President had also been to Dinagat Islands, Siargao, Leyte, Negros Occidental, and Bohol just to name a few.

The President said that he had encountered problems in reaching the affected areas because of the limitations of using a helicopter and the inability to land a plane in such places.

According to him, the government will work overtime and will keep itself open even if it’s Christmas.

So titignan namin, hanggang Pasko magtatrabaho ako. Hindi ako mag-New Year.

The President earlier said that the Office of the President (OP) had set aside PHP 10 billion for the post-Odette response. President Duterte said that the money will be distributed to locals in the coming days.
