It was just recently when Odette, the 15th tropical cyclone for 2021, devastated various parts of the country particularly in the Visayas such as in Bohol, Negros, Cebu, Siargao and to name a few.

The typhoon wreaks havoc leaving more than 100 casualties as of posting. It is estimated that the damage left is worth millions in infrastructure and agricultural areas.

Because of this, netizen Radical Bob (@radbob79) asked why there seems to be no help coming from foreign countries.

“I might be misinformed. Pero bakit wala yatang dumadating na foreign aid for the areas affected by the typhoon? Before kasi by this time, dagsa na yan ah,” he said.

Some netizens have blamed the current administration as to why some foreign countries are yet to send their relief to those affected by the typhoon.

Another netizen compared the current administration to the time of former President Noynoy Aquino.

Some supporters of the administration defended the apparent loss of aid from other countries.

“PGG mentality tlaga mga dilaw. We should learn to be self reliant &not just depend on others to help with our troubles. For sure d govt is mobilizing aid for those affected. Kc me pera nman unlike nun time ni pnoy binulsa lahat kya asa lahat sa foreign aid. Mga mema lng tlaga!” said @lovelee_07.

Earlier, the United Kingdom, China, Canada and the European Union have said they are ready to extend aid to the victims of typhoon Odette.

Meanwhile, different civic groups, prominent personalities, and politicians have organized relief operations to help the typhoon victims.
