Is Sen. Manny Pacquiao Open to Pres. Duterte’s Endorsement in case?

MANNY PACQUIAO – The presidential aspirant and Senator spoke on a possible endorsement by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Amid the Election 2022 drawing near, there are still changes happening with regard to the candidacies. Presidential aspirant and Sen. Bong Go recently announced his withdrawal from running for president in next year’s poll.

According to Sen. Go, he is not prepared to run for president as he was really set for the vice presidential race. He is the standard-bearer of the ruling party PDP-Laban Cusi wing.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is vocal about his support of Sen. Go’s presidential bid. Following the Senator’s decision to back out from the presidential race, there are questions on who the Chief Executive will possibly support in next year’s poll.

According to Sen. Manny Pacquiao, it is not a problem with him as he is an advocate of unity. Based on the report, the Senator even stressed that it is in the Bible that if “a kingdom is divided against themselves, that kingdom cannot stand. If a house is divided, that house cannot stand”.

It is no secret to the public that Pres. Duterte and Sen. Pacquiao previously had a rift over the latter’s corruption accusations versus some government agency. The 76-year-old Chief Executive challenged the Senator to prove it. As for the Senator, the President should have pushed for its investigation.

Last November 9, 2021, Pres. Duterte and Sen. Pacquiao met as arranged by Sen. Bong Go. According to the former special assistant to the president, it was a renewal of friendship between the President and the Senator.
