Hardworking Mom Cries Tears of Joy After Passing Nursing Board Exam on Her 5th Attempt

A hardworking mom finally passed the Nursing licensure examination on her fifth attempt after failing four times.

A Facebook user named Michelle Guerra-Flores has expressed her happiness online after passing the Nursing board examination last November 2021. The post goes viral online and her story served as inspiration to the online community.

Guerra graduate BS in Nursing in 2004 and failed to pass her first take after giving birth to her first child. A year after her first take, she attempted to take another licensure exam but she was not able to pass again.

Hardworking Mom

Michelle finds it hard to find a stable job to help her husband support the financial necessities of their family. She was able to get a job at a BPO company and set aside her desire to get a nursing license. After a decade, the lady tried again for the fourth time but she fail to pass the exam.

In 2021, the woman’s husband and children encouraged her to take the NLE November 2021 but she had her hesitation thinking that a month is not enough to review. Eventually, she applied online on the last filing day for the exam and start reviewing.

The aspiring nurse was also able to attend a final coaching online review for 10 days to refresh her knowledge and took the exam. She waited for almost three weeks and her sleepless days paid off after passing the exam.

Finally a Registered Nurse .

Graduated BSN year 2004, was not able to pass my first take since I was blessed with my 1st child. A year after, I took the exam again but still failed. Got pregnant with my 2nd child (daughter) and focused on taking care of my 2 kids. Struggled to find a job to help my husband with our children’s finances and luckily landed in a BPO industry. Had my 3rd child (youngest) after 7yrs since I graduated. Since then, I set aside my desire to get the License (Nurse) since I need to earn money for my children and need to juggle work and school, as well as in taking care for them. After a decade since I graduated, tried to take the board exam but still didn’t make it. Tried again for the 4th time but still wasn’t able to make it .

A month before the exam , my husband and children encouraged me to take the board exam (NLE November 2021) this year, I hesitated because I know that I am not ready. 1 month is not enough to review and prepare since its almost 2decades since I graduated and I think my brain is already ‘rusted’ and requires more time to be sharpened again. But because of their persistence, I realized I should take the exam again.. I applied online on the last filing day for the exam. Took my old notes and some review materials for me to read it on my free time since I’m still working on a graveyard shift and need to sleep during daytime. 2 weeks before the exam I was lucky to attend a final coaching online review RGO NLE Final Coaching 2021 at RGO Nursing Review Center – Cebu City for 8hrs everyday for 10days straight and had to risk/gamble my sleep and rest just to have a refresher for my rusted brain lol . However, thank God I survived and was able to take the exam for 2 days(Nov 21-22, 2021) with excitement and mixed emotions .

After the exam,, the waiting game started… Waited for almost 3 wks for the result to be released and last night… All the time, effort, and sleepless days paid off.

I PASSED .

I want to thank my husband Cris Flores, my 3 musketeers Lawrence Ian Flores Larah Crischelle Flores Lee Robin Guerra Flores especially my eldest son for pushing me to my limits and for encouraging me to strive harder to bring home the bacon . To my family.. My father Michael Guerra , my mother Susan Rocamora Guerra and my siblings, in laws and nephews for a never-ending encouragement and prayers. I owe you all.. To my friends and colleagues, thank you for your prayers

Lastly, to our almighty Lord God, Mama Mary, Snr. Sto Niño, St. Rita of Cascia, Mother of Perpetual Help, Mama Mary of Mount Carmel and Padre Pio of Pietrelcina thank you for the grace and mercy that was bestowed to me. I am beyond grateful.

This is not the end but just the beginning of the new chapter of my life. I have now achieved my goal for more than 17 years of waiting, wanting and praying.

Nothing is ever too late. God has plans for all of us.

Thank you, and have a great day! Congratulations to all the new RN’s in our country!

Congratulations to my younger sistah sissy iyaan Mhai Guerra who made it to the exam as well.. Good Job to us yah
