Here’s the reason why DJ Durano left ABS-CBN
DJ DURANO – The former Kapamilya actor revealed in an interview why he left ABS-CBN in 2014.
DJ rose to fame as a character actor on ABS-CBN. He started in 2001 via bit roles until he was given substantial roles.
But in 2014, he decided to transfer to the GMA network.
Presently, he’s gearing up for his upcoming teleserye titled Lolong starring Ruru Madrid.
In an interview with PEP.ph, he revealed the reasons why he left his home network.
According to him, he “was not getting respect anymore” during those times, prompting him to shift to another network.
“Marami lang naging issues na hindi na rin ako naging masaya. And I was not getting the right roles na rin siguro,” he added.
However, he clarified: “But up to now, wala pa rin akong masabi. Thank you pa rin sa ABS. Ganoon lang ako.”
When asked if he told the ABS-CBN management about his transfer, he said: “Wala namang pagpapaalam kasi hindi naman ako superstar sa ABS… bit character actor [ako], so hindi naman ako yung mahirapan magpaalam.”
But according to him, he spoke about it to two executives of the network. Unfortunately, he refused to reveal their names.
DJ Durano stressed that he chose the right decision to transfer to GMA-7.
He also said that he understood why some famous Kapamilya stars are transferring to other networks.
Among the latest addition to the GMA powerhouse stars is no other than award-winning actor, John Lloyd Cruz.
DJ is excited about the possibility to work with John Lloyd as well as Bea Alonzo, who’s also now a Kapuso, and Maja Salvador, who’s rumored to transfer to GMA-7.
