Senator Bong Go: “Bakit tayo nagmamadali? Sinong nagmamadali? Iilan lang po ang nagmamadali.”
BONG GO — On Friday, the senator said that he saw no need to rush his official withdrawal from the 2022 presidential race.
Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said that he first wanted his supporters to understand why he will no longer seek the presidency next year.
According to the senator, he will let his supporters gradually understand the reason behind his withdrawal and also appeal to them to understand his situation.
“Bakit ba tayo nagmamadali? Bakit tayo nagmamadali? Sinong nagmamadali? Iilan lang po ang nagmamadali. Pero mas importante rin po sa akin ipa-intindi muna ‘yong mga nagdurugo mga puso, ‘yong mga nagpagod na po, eh kandidato na rin po ako as vice president,” Go told reporters.

Last November 30, the senator announced that he’s no longer pursuing the presidency as it may place his former boss, President Rodrigo Duterte, in a tough spot.
According to him, he will personally withdraw his candidacy at the main office of the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Intramuros, Manila, only if his supporters didn’t show up and try to convince him to reconsider.
Meanwhile, the senator said that President Duterte has yet to make a decision on who to support in the 2022 elections.
Among the presidential aspirants were Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso, Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Manny Pacquiao, labor leader Leody de Guzman, Vice President Leni Robredo, and former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
