Roque said in a statement that President Duterte and Mayor Sara were on good terms as they will not face each other for any government position in the 2022 elections.

The former Presidential spokesperson formalized his senatorial bid after filing his certificate of candidacy (COC) on the deadline set by COMELEC (Commission on Elections) on Monday.

Roque substituted for a certain Paulo Mario Martelino under the People’s Reform Party (PRP).
