Dubbed as the “most handsome leading man on TV 5,” Empoy stars in primetime family teleserye entitled “Nina Niño,” alongside Maja Salvador.

Joining the two in the series is no less than actress Giselle Sanchez.

Recently, Giselle got a chance to talk with Empoy Marquez for her Gossip Girl column and in their conversation, she asked the latter why he hasn’t updated his channel.

It’s been five months since the comedian updated his channel on the video-sharing platform, YouTube.

His latest post on YT was “Never Have I Ever” with Maja.

According to him, he has been busy shooting his comeback movie with Alessandra de Rossi. The two first worked together in the 2017 movie Kita Kita which is up to now the highest-grossing Filipino independent film of all time.

Their comeback movie was taken in Paris and that’s the reason why he was not seen on Niña Niño for a long time.

Now, he’s back in the Philippines and during an interview with Giselle, he revealed that he tried to make a vlog while he’s in Paris.

But one time, while he was shooting for a vlog, Parisian police or guard confronted him by saying: “hey hey hey’, are you Afghan?”

Giselle asked Empoy how he responded since it is “racial profiling and blatant discrimination.”

Empoy Marquez shared that he got scared and was not able to talk. Then, he decided to return to their hotel.

After the incident, he did not stroll around alone. Whenever he goes outside, he sees to it that he’s with his group or with Alex.

“Konti nga lang po pictures ko kasi natakot nako mag-shoot baka masita pa uli ako,” he said.
