The heartbreaking photos of an elderly pedicab driver who passed away while working to feed his family elicit comments online.
Over the past few years, a lot of Filipino people are suffering from poverty and starvation due to the current situation of the Philippines. Lack of job opportunities and stable source of income were the major reasons for financial crisis.
Senior citizens who supposed to file retirement at the age of 60-65 years old prefer to work despite their old age just to support the financial needs of their families and loved ones.
Recently, the Facebook page “Russel Simorio GMA” has shared the heartbreaking photos of an elderly pedicab driver who passed away while driving his cab. The post garnered various reactions from the netizens.
In the photos, it can be seen that a military personnel found the lifeless body of a poor grandpa pummeling on his pedicab. The old man seems to be tired and exhausted because of doing his job even in his old age.
The senior citizen probably preferred to work despite his old age just to earn money and support the financial necessities of his family. The grandpa’s cab has been parked beside the road when his body was found.
