ICC PROBE – Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said that not only Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa should be nervous about the International Criminal Court investigation into the alleged extrajudicial killings in the drug war but also President Rodrigo Duterte.
One of the issues that hooked international attention are the deaths linked to the drug war in the Philippines. The International Criminal Court (ICC) is one of those that wants to investigate the issues and accusations against President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
Amid the issues and accusations surrounding the anti-drug campaign of the Duterte administration, the Palace officials have continually rejected to participate n the investigation of the international court. Reportedly, one lawyer expressed that the court may still be able to obtain pieces of evidence even without coming to the Philippines.
Meanwhile, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said in an online interview that not only Senator Bato should be nervous about the ICC probe into the alleged extrajudicial killings in the drug war but also President Duterte.
“Sila dapat dalawa ang nerbiyosin ano kasi talagang sila ‘yung mga arkitekto nito noong mga pagpatay,” he said.
“Ikaw pa ‘yung nagpasimuno ng pagpatay sa mga constituent mo. So, mananagot sila diyan,” Trillanes added.
President Duterte recently revealed that Dela Rosa was nervous after he was included in the ICC charges.
But he told the senator not to worry about it and stressed that if there is any person who is going to prison, it would be him.
Dela Rosa was the chief of the Philippine National Police when the Duterte administration’s anti-drug campaign called Oplan Tokhang began.
