In an interview live-streamed on SunStar Cebu’s Facebook page, Mayor Sara told local media that what they talked about was how HNP in the Davao Region can help Bongbong’s bid for the presidency.

It was Mayor Sara’s first time speaking to the media after arriving in Cebu last October 22. Bongbong had arrived earlier the same day, fueling suspicions that he and Mayor Sara might become a tandem.

Mayor Sara had just come from speaking with local mayors at LMP-Cebu (League of Municipalities-Cebu) in Liloan town in northern Cebu.

Her spokesperson, Christina Garcia-Frasco, was the mayor of Liloan town and also the president of LMP-Cebu. She’s also the daughter of Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia.

Mayor Sara was also asked by reporters if she had plans to run for president through substitution. She also reiterated that she would pursue her reelection bid for mayor of Davao City in the 2022 elections.

No, I do not have plans to run for president,” Mayor Sara said.

But when asked about photos circulating on social media of her raising the hand of Gwen Garcia and Bongbong Marcos, Mayor Sara said that it was meant to show her support for the Cebu governor.

Mayor Sara filed her certificate of candidacy for Davao City mayor last October 2, while Bongbong filed his certificate of candidacy for president last October 6.
