With regards to the fight against drugs, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Leni Robredo will fight drugs as intensely as the administration of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte if she wins president but with a different approach.

According to the Vice President, she believes that the current campaign against drugs is “heavy on enforcement” because it is chaired by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA). She believes that the approach will “more holistic” if it would be led by the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).

“Ang paniniwala ko ‘pag DBB ang iyong umupo na chair, ang plano niya hindi lang patay, patay, patay. Ang plano niya talagang very comprehensive, heavy on prevention, heavy on rehabilitation,” she said.

Based on the report, with regards to a contender’s call for the candidates to undergo drug testing, Vice Pres. Robredo said that she is ready “anytime”. According to her, it is not a problem with her and it can benefit the candidates to prove that they are on a clean slate.

Several local government officials including Iloilo Mayor Jerry Trenas have aired out their support for the presidential bid of the Vice President. Many people also voluntarily organized caravans and other activities to show their support to her.

The Vice President admitted that she was overwhelmed by the support that many people showed after she announced her bid for the presidency.
