LEI JUN — The founder and CEO of Xiaomi had successfully withdrawn from a number of the company’s units and even certain companies that were backed by Xiaomi.

PanDaily reported that the industrial and commercial registration information regarding Chengdu Beida Asset Management Co. recently made two notable updates — one of which revealed that the CEO of Xiaomi has withdrawn from the company’s Executive Director position.

According to Gizmochina, Chengdu Beida Asset Management was owned by Tianxing Digital Technology, which runs a mobile payment platform that was owned by the smartphone manufacturer.

The senior official of the Chinese tech giant had previously withdrawn from the position of Chairman of Xiaomi Credit Management Co. Ltd. and also the Director position of Shanghai Xiaomi Financial Information Service as well.

Back in July, the CEO of Xiaomi even withdrew from the position of Executive Director of Chongqing Xiaomi Commercial Factoring Co. Ltd.

Currently, Lei Jun was still the Executive Director, Chairman, and CEO of Xiaomi, which focused on smart TVs, smartphones, and other smart household products and ecosystems as well.

Lei Jun’s responsibilities include corporate culture building, strategy making, and key products development, along with supervising the senior management team.

Gizmochina also reported that Lei Jun was still the director at different other subsidiaries, merged affiliated firms, and other firms backed by Xiaomi despite leaving a number of companies backed by Xiaomi.

Last month, Xiaomi had officially registered its own electric vehicle business, the Xiaomi EV. Xiaomi representatives said at that time that the branch has already employed 300 employees at that time and the new division was headed by Lei Jun.
