Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, NDFP leader Joma Sison has strong accusations against Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. According to him, the Manila Mayor must be looked at “as a high bureaucrat capitalist dedicated to preserving the present anti-national and anti-democratic ruling system”.

Sison stressed that it is both unfair to link Mayor Isko to the NDFP saying that the Mayor is not qualified to the party “which has high ideological, political and organizational standard for membership”.

Furthermore, Joma Sison claimed that Mayor Isko Moreno is committed to serving the interests of the foreign monopolists and landlords “unless he becomes enlightened” and prove that he is not one.

Based on the report, as for Mayor Isko, he stressed that the photo he has with Sison was taken when he was an observer of the peace talks. He also denied supporting the party’s ideology.

Mayor Isko is running with Doc Willie Ong in the upcoming election. Previously, amid the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COC) to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), a hashtag #WithdrawIsko went trending on social media after Vice Pres. Leni Robredo announced her bid.

On his part, the Manila Mayor stressed that it is also his right to run for public office.
