In his pre-recorded Talk to the People, the country’s chief executive slammed anew the lawmaker.

He said: “Ito dapat si Gordon maglipat siya sa judiciary. Doon siya magsigaw-sigaw.”

Duterte was referring to the senator’s “shouting” during the series of Senate investigations into the procurement of COVID-19 supplies.

Gordon responded to the tirade of Duterte, saying: “So spare me a lecture about character, especially from someone who hardly knows what it means.”

The incumbent senator cited that his “outrage” is being addressed to the people who “shamelessly lie or hide the truth.”

“I cannot keep silent at how the government was swindled by a gang of rich kids in cahoots with greedy public officials,” he noted.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque was asked for comments regarding the remarks of Gordon against Duterte, however, he has yet to reply.

Meanwhile, Gordon, the chairman and chief executive officer of the Philippine Red Cross and the country’s president Rodrigo Duterte continue to clash amid the Senate inquiry into the use of COVID-19 funds by the Department of Health (DOH).

The Senate blue ribbon committee, chaired by Gordon is also looking into the purchase of P8.6-billion worth of face masks, face shields, and PPEs from Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation courtesy of the Department of Budget and Management-Procurement Service.

Pharmally is a firm that is being linked to former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang. It only had a P625,000 paid-up capital when started transacting with the government.
