Apple’s special event will be held on October 18 at 10:00 am PT (October 19 at 1:00 am in the Philippines). This marked the second year in a row that the company has held an October event completely virtually because of the pandemic.

The said event will be live-streamed across Apple’s website, on Apple’s YouTube channel, and through the Apple TV application on iPad, iPhone, Mac, and Apple TV.

What to expect at Apple’s “Unleashed” special event?

The company was expected to introduce the long-anticipated new “M1X-powered” MacBook Pros. Apple was rumored to be working on new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models that were powered by a so-called “M1X” processor.

Apple’s new MacBook Pros were expected to feature an HDMI port, a mini-LED display, an SD card slot, MagSafe for charging, and much more. The company was also expected to ditch the Touch Bar in favor of a traditional row of function keys.

Also, the design of the new MacBook Pros was expected to be similar to the latest iPhone, iMac, and iPad design language with flatter edges.

The company was also rumored to be working on a new Mac mini with specifications identical to the M1X MacBook Pro with up to 64GB RAM, 10-core CPU, and 16 or 32 graphics cores.

Jon Prosser, meanwhile, has reported on YouTube that the company’s “M1X-powered” Mac mini will introduce a “new generation of industrial design”.

Continuing with the Mac focus of the said event, Apple was expected to announce macOS Monterey’s official release date. Monterey was currently in beta testing and was expected to be released to the public soon.
