Recently, the Buhay party-list representative lambasted VP Robredo asking her what she has done to the country which might prompt her to seek the highest position in the government.

Robredo is said to be running for president in the upcoming elections. However, she is yet to make an official declaration and file her Certificate of Candidacy (COC).

Her supposed presidential bid prompted Atienza to air his view about the incumbent vice-president

“Anu na ba nagawa mo sa bayan bakit pinipilit mo magpresidente, she should be able to answer that bilang Pilipino,” he said.

But supporters of Robredo including Agot Isidro did not like the remarks of Atienza.

According to Agot, it is not Robredo who wants to run for President, but the people.

“Mawalang-galang na po, Mr. Atienza, kami po ang namimilit sa kanya na tumakbo. May namilit po ba sa inyo?” she said.

Some netizens also shared Robredo’s alleged accomplishments during his term as vice president.

The Office of the Vice President (OVP) also responded to Atienza’s political banter.

Meanwhile, the filing of COC kicked off on Friday, October 1 and it will end on October 8.

The Commission on Elections will post a tentative list of candidates on October 29.

On the other hand, the campaign period for nationally-elected positions will kick off on February 8, 2022, until May 7, 2022, while for locally-elected positions, it will start on March 25 until May 7, 2022. The nationwide elections are scheduled to be held on May 9.
