Senators wanted the Pharmally employee to be placed under the protective custody of the Senate.
Senators wanted the employee of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corporation to be placed under the protective custody of the Senate after disclosing that the company may have “swindled” the government.
During the Senate hearing on Friday, Senate blue ribbon committee chairman Senator Richard Gordon asked Pharmally Regulatory Affairs Head Krizle Mago if the company may have “swindled” the government when it changed the expiration dates on the face shields it delivered to the Philippines.
“I believe so. I believe that is the case, Mr. Chairman,” Mago, who was holding back tears, said in response to the senator’s question.
Prior to this, Mago confirmed the claim of an employee of Pharmally warehouse that they’re ordered to replace the certificates of face shields dated 2020 with new certificates dated 2021.
Mago told senators that this was a supply concern. According to her, she raised it to the management and that was the solution that was given to them.
When asked who gave her the order to change the expiration dates on the face shields it delivered, Mago said that it was from Pharmally’s management.
“You’re a Filipino, I think you’re a good lady who wants to get up in life, nasama ka diyan sa mga mayayaman na tao na kayang mabuhay ng sarili, ikaw you’re still struggling I suppose. Tumulong ka na sa bayan,” Senator Gordon said.
Mago said that she’s willing to cooperate.

Senator Risa Hontiveros then moved that Mago be placed under the protective custody of the Senate.
“I just want to make one urgent motion requesting the good chair to please place Miss Mago under the protective custody of the Senate,” Senator Hontiveros told Senator Gordon.
Senator Francis Pangilinan seconded the motion, but Senator Gordon pointed out that Mago should first agree with Hontiveros’ request. In response, Senator Pangilinan then noted that Mago earlier expressed willingness to cooperate with the Senate probe.
