Gordon discloses Pharmally executives acquired luxury cars
PHARMALLY – Senator Richard Gordon disclosed on Friday, September 17 that several officials of the controversial pharmaceutical corporation acquired luxury vehicles after they bagged contracts from the government for the purchase of COVID-19 supplies in 2020.
Gordon bared in the resumption of the Senate investigation into the controversial procurement of COVID-19 items that some Pharmally executives were able to acquire luxury cars in less than a year since securing a contract with the government.
According to Gordon, Pharmally’s corporate secretary, Mohit Dargani, acquired a Porsche 911 Turbo S worth P8.5 million while Twinkle Dargani, the firm’s president, obtained a Lamborghini Urus worth P13 million.
Gordon was puzzled how they were able to acquire such expensive vehicles worth millions in less than a year.
Gordon, the chairman and chief executive officer of the Philippine Red Cross also disclosed that Linconn Ong, the director of the controversial pharmaceutical corporation, acquired a Lexus RCF worth P5.9 million, a Porsche Cayenne VR6 with an estimated amount of P6.35 to P8.85 million, and a Porsche Carrera 4S worth P13.5 million.
The Pharmally officials mentioned by Gordon are all present in the resumption of the Senate probe into the procurement of COVID-19 supplies.
However, they have yet to give a comment regarding the revelations of Senator Gordon.
The investigation has been called after the Commission on Audit (COA) flagged the Department of Health (DOH) for the transfer of P42 billion funds to the Procurement Service of the Department of Budget and Management for the procurement of face masks and face shields last year onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Pharmally Pharmaceuticals Corporation allegedly secured more than P8 billion worth of government contracts for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPEs).
