During the media conference of “Bekis on the Run”, the beauty queen-turned-actress acknowledged the efforts of the Japan-based organization to push through with the competition despite the pandemic.

Sobra sobra ‘yung mga effort na ginawa nila [Miss International organization] pero, unfortunately, ‘yung Japan government ‘yung hindi pumayag for the pageant itself,” Kylie said.

Sharing her thoughts about the cancellation, Kylie again stressed the struggles of the Miss International organization to push through with the pageant amidst the global health crisis.

Kylie’s reaction came as the Miss International organization decided to cancel its pageant for the second year in a row because of concerns over the pandemic. The organization made the announcement a few months before the scheduled coronation night of this year’s pageant.

With regard to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, which was held in Japan this year, the actress said that the Olympics was different as it’s been there for so many years.

Meanwhile, Kylie said she wasn’t too worried that the Miss International pageant will lose its “essence” due to its consecutive postponements.

The actress also shared her message to Bb. Pilipinas International 2021 Hannah Arnold, who was supposed to represent the country in this year’s Miss International pageant.

‘Yung advice ko kay Hannah, keep on doing what you’re doing. This is the perfect opportunity… you’ll realize you have more time to train, to do better, to become better, to form yourself as Miss International. So, kayang kaya mo ‘yan. Pageant pa lang nakita ko na ‘yung potential niya as Miss International, so kayang kaya niya ‘yan,” Kylie said.
