The couple recently revealed that their friendship was the secret to their long-term relationship.
Gabbi and Khalil shared in the latest episode of “Figure It Out With Gabbi and Khalil” podcast that there’s “no pressure” at all and just naturally exchanged stories with each other on their first date in 2017.
“I think that’s the most important part: start off as friends. That also explains why we’re very chill as a couple. We’re not as romantiko, as gigil talaga. We’re just very chill kasi from the very start we’re just chill. People ask us, ‘How come you guys are so tagal na?’ Walang lumalabas na issues, walang lumalabas na blind item,’” Gabbi said.
According to her, she and Khalil started off as best friends and until they’re best friends until now.

Gabbi and Khalil said that their first date was only the second time they personally saw each other after they first met in 2015.
Khalil also shared that they didn’t have an “I want to win you” type of relationship but more of “let’s get to know each other and see where it leads” because he and Gabbi were already close when they started dating.
Aside from revealing their secret, Gabbi revealed that Khalil met her parents on their first date. Unlike other couples who went through the “meet the parents” phase, she shared the exact opposite that happened with her and her boyfriend.
The couple celebrated their 4th anniversary together last February 22.
In their previous podcast episode, Gabbi and Khalil revealed that their anniversary was February 22 because it’s the day she texted him 2 years after they met and when they started rekindling their relationship.
