Jed Mabilog’s wife hit back at President Duterte for questioning Senator Drilon’s relationship to her husband.
On Saturday, former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog’s wife hit back at President Rodrigo Duterte for questioning Senator Franklin Drilon’s relationship to her husband.
Marivic Mabilog, the wife of former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog, explained the relationship of Senator Drilon to her husband in a Facebook post.
According to her, the senator was her husband’s cousin and they shared “decency, honesty and the desire for public service” in their blood.

She added that both weren’t tainted with any proven cases of corruption.
“You brought up Jed’s name again. You miss him that much? Sorry, but he’s taken. I am the better choice, er, the best choice,” Marivic said to President Duterte in a Facebook post.
ABS-CBN News reported that Mabilog fled the country due to fears for his and his family’s life after President Duterte linked him to the illegal drug trade.
Based on a report, several alleged “narco-politicians” had been killed in supposed legitimate police operations under the Duterte administration, namely Ozamiz City Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog and Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.

Aside from questioning Senator Drilon’s relationship to her husband, Marivic hit back at President Rodrigo Duterte for prodding the senator to reveal to the public the owner of the biggest mall in Iloilo City and who brokered the sale of the old Iloilo City Airport to a large real estate company.
“What biggest mall are you talking about? If you are giving it to us as compensation for the wrongs that you did, Thanks, but no thanks. Or you just happened to think of the mall because I pointed out to your favorite cabinet secretary, Mr Fan Boy of BBB, that the only legitimate BBB project he can claim in Iloilo is ‘ang tiyangge ni Nanay niya?’” Marivic said, referring to Vista Mall in Iloilo City.
To recall, DPWH Secretary Mark Villar drew criticisms on social media after sharing a drone-captured image of the Iloilo Esplanade project.
