In Star Magic’s “Inside News”, she said that personal and financial problems were the reason why it crossed her mind to give up singing.

At the time, she auditioned for X Factor and The Voice but failed to pass. Then, she told herself to stop singing.

Eventually, she joined Tawag ng Tanghalan on It’s Showtime where she ended as a semifinalist.

After some time, she formed a band called Gigi Vibes Band. Her group regularly holds jamming sessions, live-streamed on Facebook and YouTube.

Watch her interview in the video provided below:

It was during a session last June 19 when a viewer requested her to sing a part of Roselle Nava’s “Bakit Nga Ba Mahal Kita.”

Her rendition earned her praises and massive support among netizens.

Her online popularity was then followed by lots of projects and guestings.

At present, she’s gearing up for the album launch of Gigi Vibes band composed of Jon Cruz, LA Arquero, Harvy Jake Manalo, and Romeo Pastre Marquez this coming September 24.

She said that her band put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice in order to come up with their own album.

Gigi de Lana and her band will also hold a digital concert this coming December.

Early this year, she was named as the latest addition to Rise Artists Studio and just last week, she signed a contract under ABS-CBN’s talent agency Star Magic.

Gigi started to sing at the age of 5.

In 2016, she joined Tawag ng Tanghalan. Unfortunately, she did not win the said competition. She later performed on ASAP alongside her singing idols.
