Lea Salonga: “Oh my, JM Yosures is good!”
LEA SALONGA – The broadway legend commended the performance of Tawag ng Tangahalan Season 4 grand champion JM Yosures on ASAP Natin ‘To.
According to him, he was overwhelmed when he received a remark from the award-winning singer over his performance of SB19’s hit song “Go Up” on ASAP on Sunday, February 7.
“Grabe sobrang tuwang-tuwa po dahil si Ms. Lea Salonga po ‘yon. Hindi lang po siya, na-appreciate din po ng mga kasama ko pong mag-perform sa ASAP ‘yung performance ko and then si Ms. Lea Salonga pa nanonood ng ASAP noong time na ‘yon. Sobrang saya po, sobrang unreal ng feeling. Hanggang sa ngayon po ay hindi pa rin ako mapakali dahil sa sobrang saya ko,” he said.
On the micro-blogging site, Twitter, Lea Salonga couldn’t help but be in awe of JM’s performance. “Oh my, JM Yosures is good! Nice tone and that vibrato is lit!” she posted.
It was on Saturday when JM Yosures has been named as the grand winner of the fourth (4th) season of Tawag ng Tanghalan on It’s Showtime.
He bested other grand finalists including Rachell Laylo, Rica Mae Maer, Emmar Cabilogan, Nikole Kyle Bernido, Makki Lucino, JM Yosures, Donna Gift Ricafrente, Mara Tumale, and Ayegee Paredes.
In the end, he and hailed as fourth grand champion after Noven Belleza (2017), Janine Berdin (2018), and Elaine Duran (2019).
He took home win P1 million, a recording contract with Star Music, a management contract with Star Magic, and a trophy crafted by renowned artist Toym Imao and a brand new house and lot from Lessandra.
