In a privilege speech last Tuesday, Senator Go raised Senator Gordon’s affiliation with the Philippine Red Cross and also mentioned the multi-million memorandum of agreement (MOA) that the humanitarian organization entered into with the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) during the onset of the pandemic last year.

Senator Gordon, who was also the chairman of the Philippine Red Cross, had been demanding payments from PhilHealth for the COVID tests that the organization has conducted.

Senator Go claimed that he has received a reprimand from Senator Gordon when he’s asking for help to expedite the release of PhilHealth payments to the Philippine Red Cross. The senator didn’t elaborate on the matter and said that the issue should be saved for future discussion.

He also said that Senator Gordon has no right to question his closeness with President Rodrigo Duterte because he promised the President that he would never leave him.

Senator Go added that Senator Gordon has no right to question his closeness with the President as long as there’s no conflict with his job and he’s doing his duties as a senator.
