Earlier, COA flagged DOH for allegedly questionable items such as the planned purchase of 4 laptops amounting to P700,000; P42.4 billion fund transfer to the DBM without proper documentation and failure to disburse some P4.8 million in financial assistance to health care workers.

COA Chairperson Michael Aguinaldo said that DOH was given 60 days to respond to its recommendations.

Amid the issues hurled against the health department, President Rodrigo Duterte said he would not accept Duque’s resignation if ever he steps down from his post as health chief.

Meanwhile, in his Talk to the People, the President denounced Gordon’s talkativeness which he called the champion of the “talkathon” for being the only one who spoke, asked, and answered the questions in the so-called investigation.

According to the president, Dick Gordon always calls for a hearing in the Senate but has yet to send someone into prison. He noted that lawmaker is just showing off for the election.

The President stressed that he is not politicizing but only criticizes the actions of lawmakers who insult those summoned to the investigation.

Because of this, President Duterte asked the people not to vote in the coming elections for senators who are just noisy and do nothing but investigate.

The President did not like the Senator’s style of investigation because the summoned officials could not properly answer the deadline after being interrupted.

Dick Gordon’s weight and hair were also criticized by the President and advised to lose weight.
