A longer curfew will be enforced in Metro Manila on August 6, the beginning of a stricter enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority chairperson Benhur Abalos, said Monday that the curfew will be enforced from 8 p.m. until 4 a.m., beginning Friday (Aug. 6).
On June 15, the curfew in Metro Manila was shortened from 12 midnight to 4 a.m.
Metro Manila is currently under general community quarantine (GCQ) “subject to heightened and additional restrictions” which will last until Thursday (Aug.5).
The stricter ECQ will be implemented on Aug. 6 due to the continued increase in COVID-19 cases, including the more infectious Delta variant.
