Life story of Pokwang
POKWANG – The newest Kapuso star recalled working as a sweepstakes vendor at the age of nine.
It was in the year 1980 when her family settled in Antipolo.
At an early age, she started working to help her family financially.
She said: “Nagtitinda ako ng ticket ng sweepstakes, ticket yun na every Sunday ang raffle.”
“Pati kandila, suman, kasuy, lahat na yata! Batang patio tawag dun!”
“May kanya-kanya kaming area ng pagtitinda. ‘O, area ko ito, ha? Dito ako, dun kayo.’ Ganun!”
Even during school days, she also helps sell in the market.
Hahaha! Pag Sabado at Linggo, sa simbahan kasi maraming tao.”
She also experienced collecting bottles and newspapers.
She recalled, “Umaabot kami dito pag nagbobote.
Pokwang was only a grade three pupil when she started selling goods.
“E, kailangan. Sa dami namin magkakapatid,” she said referring to her eleven siblings.
