Kim delos Santos: “They would call me names regarding my weight. I used to cry. I stepped off the floor. I talked to my boss, crying.”
KIM DELOS SANTOS – The former Kapuso actress opened up about her struggles while working as a nurse in the US.
According to her, she has “no regrets” upon leaving the entertainment industry despite her struggles at work these past few years.
The 39-year-old former actress shared in an episode of “Tunay na Buhay” that she went through different jobs before becoming a nurse.
At first, she worked at a restaurant. She then worked as a receptionist and did simpler jobs.
But she struggled when she started working as a nurse wherein she experienced discrimination.
“They would call me names regarding my weight. I used to cry. I stepped off the floor. I talked to my boss, crying,” she recalled.
But in spite of her experiences, she stressed that she did not regret leaving showbiz.
“I think its halfway knowing who you are. Always remember to be humble,” Kim said.
She added: “That [past] is like my Fantasy Island. Like, sometimes, I ask myself: Was I really a celebrity?’ Then, when I look at my old stuff, I say ‘Is this really me?'”
It was in 2004 when Kim delos Santos moved to the US after her split with husband Dino Guevarra.
At present, she is working as a nurse there.
