According to the education department, President Rodrigo Duterte approved the date recommended by Education Secretary Leonor Briones.

“We thank the President for his full support to the delivery of quality basic education for the incoming school year,” it said.

DepEd added that the school calendar for the SY 2021-2022 will be released soon.

Blended learning will still be implemented for the upcoming school year due to the pandemic.
