DepEd Issues Important Dates for Current School Year

The Department of Education (DepEd) has released several important dates for the current school year 2020-2021.

DepEd has shift to distance learning system due to the effects of the coronavirus disease, which currently spread in different countries all around the world. The virus does not only affect the public’s health but also causes impact to the global economy.

Both teachers, students, and even parents were adjusting to the new learning system for the school year 2020-2021. However, DepEd is still observing and implementing the academic calendar.

The Education Department has issued the list of important dates for the current school year. Teachers and students are advised to take note and observe the dates amid the distance learning system.

The following dates have been based on DepEd Order No. 30.

Here are the following dates:

  • December 12, 2020 – Last Day of Classes for Quarter 1
  • December 14-19, 2020 – In-service Training Week
  • December 19 to January 3, 2021 – Holiday/Christmas Break
  • January 4, 2021 – Resumption of Classes
