Former soldier face multiple charges after arrest

A former soldier accused of gambling was also caught with illegal drugs in Makati.

John Eymer Rapsing, 35, a former soldier, and his accomplice were caught with a gun, ammunition, and nearly P70,000 worth of suspected shabu.

They were arrested in Barangay West Rembo, Makati, Wednesday night and will be facing multiple charges.

They will face charges of illegal gambling, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and possession of illegal drugs.

According to Makati Police chief Col. Harold Depositar, he was discharged from the Philippine Army for AWOL.

Police added that Rapsing provided information about those he knew were involved in the robbery hold-up incident in Bulacan.

In the follow-up operation at the group’s designated safehouse in Bgy. Hagonoy, Taguig, 3 weapons were recovered including a shotgun and rifle, ammunition, as well as pixelized field service uniforms and other police equipment such as a radio, vest, and bag.

Police are still investigating the use of the seized items and other people involved in illegal activities.
