The Manila Public Information Office (PIO) has refuted the spread of Viber conversation in which it was noted that Mayor Isko Moreno will run for president in the 2022 elections.
The viral screenshots were allegedly a conversation between Manila PIO chief Julius Leonen and a reporter in which the former revealed that “off the record” they will announce Moreno’s presidential bid “soon”.
“He can’t publicly declare as of now. Isko is THE 1,” Leonen allegedly said in his conversation with the reporter.
But in a Facebook post, Leonen said: “Hahahahaha fake. The chat does not exist.”
It can be recalled that Isko Moreno announced that he would run in 2022 but has not yet mentioned what position it will be.
He has been lined up with Sara Duterte-Carpio, Manny Pacquiao, and Ping Lacson, and to name a few who are said to be running as president in next year’s poll.
