Grab PH Issues Official Statement Over Delivery Riders Calling BTS “Biot”

Here’s the official statement of Grab PH over delivery riders calling BTS, “biot.”

Grab Philippines has issued an official statement over delivery riders calling Kpop supergroup BTS, “biot.”

Recently, a netizen took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein she called out delivery riders criticizing the boy group over the star-studded BTS Meal.

Based on the screenshots she posted online, it appears that several food delivery riders of Grab PH mocked BTS by calling the South Korean group, “biot.”

The word “biot” sounds similar to the Tagalog word bayot, which means “gay.”

To address the issue, Grab Philippines has issued a statement.

Here’s the official statement of Grab Philippines:

Inclusivity is one of Grab’s core values, and we have a zero-tolerance policy for inexcusable behaviors. We have immediately suspended the delivery-partners in question and will continue to work hard to maintain an inclusive and diverse platform.

Our delivery-partners continue to provide significant services for our kababayans during these trying times. We hope that our consumers will not let the actions of a few select individuals affect the livelihoods of the many delivery-partners who rely on the Grab platform to support their families.
