On Instagram and Facebook, Taylor gave details about her upcoming album. According to her, she had always said that the world was a different place for the heartbroken as it moved on a different axis and at a different speed.

Musically and lyrically, Red resembled a heartbroken person. It was all over the place, a fractured mosaic of feelings that somehow all fit together in the end. Happy, free, confused, lonely, devastated, euphoric, wild, and tortured by memories past,” she explained.

She also shared that she went into the studio and experimented with different sounds and collaborators.
