Facebook was set to launch its own podcast platform.
Facebook had finally confirmed that the company was set to launch its own podcast platform on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.
This, after it was reported last April that Facebook was working on its own podcast platform that was expected to be introduced within the social network.
The Verge reported that Facebook had been sending emails to podcast creators about a new podcast page that will go live on June 22, 2021.
The email stated that users will be able to listen to podcasts directly on Facebook pages and also in a new “Podcasts” tab as well, which wasn’t yet available.
As with Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and other podcast platforms, anyone can set up an RSS feed to add a podcast to Facebook. New episodes will automatically be shown there once the podcast was approved.

The terms of service for Facebook’s podcast platform ensured that the company had the rights to make “derivative works” with the content. There were no details on what exactly that means, but it’s something to keep in mind before you submit a podcast to Facebook.
Also, Facebook will provide a feature called “Clips” in order to help creators promote their podcasts with short clips of an episode that can be shared anywhere on the social network.
