Julia is the daughter of Dennis with her ex-wife, Marjorie Barretto.

Gerald and his ex-girlfriend Bea broken up at the time.

On June 4, 2021, Dennis admitted on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube vlog that he was affected when Julia was involved in the Bea-Gerald breakup.

According to Dennis, he talked to Gerald then to find out what really happened.

“Natanong ko kay Gerald noon kung ‘Syota mo ba pa si Bea?’ Ang sabi niya, ‘Hindi,” he said.

He continued: “Sabi ko, ‘Okay, para wag naman lumabas na kontrabida yung anak ko.”

“Tapos sabi ko, ‘Sana ipagtanggol mo in public.’ Sabi niya, ‘Sige, tomorrow, Tito Dennis, magbibigay ako ng interview,” he added.

But Gerald’s plan to clarify the issue did not go through because they were waiting for Mariole who’s coming from the States.

Mariole Alberto, who at the time was the head of Star Magic, the talent management arm of ABS-CBN.

Gerald, Bea, and Julia were all talents of Star Magic artists back then.

Dennis noted that before Gerald’s expected interview, Bea was cornered by ABS-CBN’s internal media on the story conference of the cooking series that she was supposed to star in.

Dennis allegedly watched Bea’s interview wherein she said that she and Gerald did not have a formal breakup.

He recalled: “And then, nung gabi na iyon, doon na-ambush interview si Bea. ‘Ay, hindi ko alam na wala na kami. Basta hindi na lang siya tumawag, chuchuchu.’ E, nanonood ako noon. Sabi ko, ‘Ay, magsyota pa ito.'”

As Julia’s father, Dennis felt angry with Gerald.
