Cusi gave advice to Pacquiao before criticizing President Duterte
Energy Secretary and PDP-Laban party vice chairman Alfonso Cusi gave advice to party president Senator Manny Pacquiao before criticizing party chairman President Rodrigo Duterte.
On Tuesday, Cusi said in an ANC interview that it’s unfortunate that the acting president of the party was accusing the chairman of those things. He then advised Pacquiao to leave the ruling party first before launching criticism against the President
“Well, it’s really unfortunate that the acting president of the party is accusing the chairman—who is the President of the country—of those things, that Senator Pacquiao said openly. If you don’t like your house… if you don’t like the company you’re working for, don’t say something about it. Lumayas ka muna, bago mo sunugin ang bahay mo,” Cusi said.
Cusi’s statement came after President Duterte, in a public address on Monday night, lashed out at Senator Pacquiao for allegedly criticizing him about the corruption issues during the Duterte administration.
Senator Pacquiao has yet to respond on media queries regarding President Duterte’s latest tirade against him.
In the same interview, Cusi mentioned the party’s support for Senator Bong Go and President Duterte’s tandem in the upcoming May 2022 national elections.
Moreover, Cusi denied that they planned to oust Senator Pacquiao as PDP-Laban president in the upcoming PDP-Laban national assembly on July 17.
However, he said that it’s up to the members of the party to hold an election and to decide whether Senator Pacquiao will stay as their president or not.
