In his Talk to the People on Monday, the President said that people flocked to such gatherings without knowing the imminent danger brought by the coronavirus.

“You know, there are people who really do not know what they are doing. Sabi nila we are ignorant. May isang babae na ano. I was not referring to her, I do not even know her. I just heard it sa TV,” the President said.

According to Duterte, the barangay should be informed whenever there is a mass gathering, so that they can assist in such.

“People were swarming. It might not be the first thing that you did with your idea but from there, it generated itong mga ganito. So nagkalapit-lapit hanggang tumaas na naman,” he added.

President Duterte also called on those who do not know the effect of what they have done, and when there is a problem, blame the government.

“Ginawa niyo hindi ninyo talaga alam. Huwag na tayong magbolahan kasi kung alam ninyo yan, hindi ninyo ginawa. It has something to do with common sense. Hindi niyo alam na nagdudumugan yung mga tao. Iyan ang mahirap tapos ang gobyerno ang masama,” he said.

It can be recalled that people stormed the community pantry of actress Angel Locsin and did not follow health protocols, in which an old man fainted and died.
