It was on April 23 when the Kapamilya actress launched a community pantry on her 36th birthday.

However, a tragedy happened after a senior citizen died while queuing at the event.

This prompted celebrities to react after some blamed Angel for the incident and among those who defended her is Divine Lee.

The former TV5 host said: “Siyempre, I feel sad kasi things happened.”

“I mean, like, nakita natin yung sa Wowowee dati, wala rin namang masama… Alam mo yun, wala naman silang masamang intensiyon to begin with, e.” she noted.

“And I know naman Angel’s heart is so pure,” she added.

Divine Lee is referring to the stampede in the first-anniversary celebration of Wowowee, the former noontime show of Willie Revillame on ABS-CBN.

It was held at PhilSports Arena (formerly ULTRA), Pasig City, on February 4, 2006.

As a result, 71 people were killed and hundreds more were injured.

She went on saying: “Hindi naman niya ginusto na magkagulo or whatever.”

“I’m not sure kung ano yung talagang nangyari, wala rin ako dun,” she added.

Divine Lee hopes that the said incident will be resolved.
