Cebu has been nominated in the World Travel Awards as “best wedding destination.”
The Philippines is still among the must-see tourist attractions despite fears of a coronavirus pandemic, according to Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat.
In fact, tourism sites in the Philippines have received a lot of recognition.
This includes Cebu being nominated as the “best wedding destination.”
In the May 27 episode of “The Chiefs,” she said: “Last September we received safe travel stamp from the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). Ibig sabihin our health and safety protocols passed the global standards. In fact, Bora, Baguio are two of the destinations that received safe travel stamp.”
“And we’re still top of mind, Intramuros won best tourist attraction. We are the world’s best dive destination. And this year we’re nominated to the World Travel Awards, Cebu nominated as best wedding destination,” she noted.
“We did a survey, of course everyone knows the country is beautiful. But ang laban ngayon is how safe they will be in your country. So ‘yung WTTC stamp proud kami diyan kasi it’s hard to get that seal of approval from them,” she added.
