Many prominent Filipino personalities had shown their support for the national government’s COVID-19 vaccination program and its aim to curb the spread of COVID-19 nationwide as the Philippines continued to battle the coronavirus pandemic that showed no sign of abating after a year.

Health experts believed that the COVID-19 vaccine — along with practicing the minimum health standards such as wearing face masks, washing hands, and social distancing — was the only protection against the coronavirus disease.

However, because of the limited supply of COVID-19 vaccine doses in the Philippines, vaccine prioritization was being implemented in the country until “herd immunity” was achieved.

The national government was also expecting the arrival of more COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines as vaccine manufacturers ramped up their production in order to supply the world, especially countries that needed it most.

Some Filipino personalities had already received their first COVID-19 vaccine dose in order to encourage the public to get vaccinated.

Tirso Cruz III was one of them.

The actor recently gave an update in his Instagram post, which came as a short letter written for his eldest son TJ, who died of cancer last 2018.

It has been 29 months since you’ve been gone. Missing you so much. By the way, I got my 1st dose of vaccine last Saturday,” Tirso Cruz III said in his Instagram post.

As seen in the photo uploaded on his Instagram post, Tirso Cruz III was seen holding a pack of sugar-free cookies.

Other celebrities including Willie Revillame and Ogie Diaz had also received their COVID-19 vaccines.
