#BisingPH — Globe Telecom readied its disaster assistance and its facilities as Typhoon Bising intensified in the Philippines.

In a report on Manila Bulletin, Globe Telecom was ready to extend assistance to residents in Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and other areas threatened by Typhoon Bising as part of its intensified disaster preparedness campaign.

Globe Telecom assured that its technical and support personnel were on call, as well as its standby generators for use of its facilities.

Manila Bulletin also reported that Globe Telecom’s Libreng Tawag, Charging, and WiFi services were set to be deployed in areas where Typhoon Bising was seen to bring strong winds and heavy rains.

According to PAGASA, Typhoon Bising — internationally known as “Surigae” — was forecast to intensify and to reach its peak intensity between 195 and 205 kph on Sunday.

In addition, Globe Telecom was providing free data access to the NDRRMC website for both Globe and TM customers as it reminded Filipinos in affected areas to always be prepared and to make sure to tune in to legitimate news sites and updates from authorities as well.

Moreover, Globe Telecom advised affected residents to store enough water and food, prepare their flashlights with extra batteries, bring candles and first aid kits, and fully charge their phones.

In a weather bulletin issued 11:00 am on Saturday, PAGASA said that Typhoon Bising had a maximum sustained winds of up to 185 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 230 km/h.

Typhoon Bising was moving northwestward at 20 kph over the Philippine Sea until Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening.
